MORE than 300 Rasoiyas (mid-day meal cooks) led by AIPWA organized a dharna protest at Sitapur District HQ on 16 September 2019 and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister via the District Magistrate. Addressing the dharna, AIPWA District President Comrade Sarojini said that the BJP government at the Centre is anti-woman. The MDM Scheme has the provision for honorarium for Rasoiyas at the ratio of 40/60, and the State government had announced an increase of Rs 500. But the Central government is refusing to give its contribution to the increment and is reducing the benefits of workers.

The dharna was also addressed by CPI(ML) District Secretary Comrade Arjun Lal, Comrade Gaya Prasad, Comrade Anwar Siddiqui and Comrade Santram.
